[01.16 ~ 01.17 Winter Workshop 2020]

KNU-KOICA SP students actively participated the 2020 Winter Workshop conducted last January 16 to 17 at Yangyang-gun and Sokcho-si, Gangwon-do.

The two-day activity aimed to enhance the understanding of SP students not only on the Korean culture and tradition but also on the development of local tourism, forestry management and agricultural products marketing and distribution in the country. The workshop was also intended to strengthen the relationship among students, professors and SP office staff through various team building activities.

Participants visited the Naksan Temple and Hajodae beach and had some hiking, sightseeing and local food tasting activities. Also, they were able to showcase their hidden talents through a group performance and enjoyed each other’s company through fun games.

The group also visited the National Mountain Museum where they experienced wall climbing activity and see for themselves Korea’s third largest mountain – the Seoraksan or Snowy Peaks Mountain. They also explored the Daepo Port Fish Market to observe the wet market for marine products.

According to Cao Duc Son, SP student from Vietnam, the workshop was a great extracurricular activity for scholars to dispel stress after the intensive winter semester and it strengthened the camaraderie among scholars, professors and staff.

The activity was successfully organized and facilitated by the KNU-KOICA SP office.
